Herbalife Sponsors Chinese Cycling Team

Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) announced that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Chinese Cycling Team, naming Herbalife the official nutrition company of the team.

Herbalife will sponsor and support the athletes as they prepare for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

“It is a great honor for the Chinese Cycling Teams to receive support from Herbalife,” said Jiang Guofeng, director of Chinese Cycling Association. “We are confident that Herbalife’s products will assist in providing the proper nutrients to help our athletes perform their best.”

Xu Haifeng, the first Chinese Olympic gold medalist and deputy director of the Cycling and Fencing Sports Administrative Center; Jiang Guofeng, director of Chinese Cycling Association; Jerry Li, general manager of Herbalife (China) Health Products Ltd. and coach representatives of the team officiated at the contract signing ceremony.

“Herbalife will provide the Chinese Cycling Team with personalized nutritional guidance and balanced diets to ensure that they have adequate energy for the Games,” said Jerry Li, general manager of Herbalife China.

This agreement marks the first sports team sponsorship by Herbalife in China. The company currently supports over 65 sporting and fitness events and athletes around the world.
